Roberta holds a Bachelor of Professional Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Athabasca University as well as a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. Also, she is a Registered Provisional Psychologist through the College of Alberta Psychologists and is a member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta. In addition to her formal education, Roberta has received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Integrating Somatic Psychotherapy with EMDR, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
Roberta has significant experience and interest in supporting youth, individuals, couples, and families who may be experiencing: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Domestic Violence, Grief/Loss, FASD, Depression, Addictions, Interpersonal Relationships, Couples Conflict, Self-esteem, Anxiety.
Roberta’s counselling approach is to work together with the client in a collaborative, respectful environment with a team effort towards the needs of the client. Her counselling approach is an eclectic blend of solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, strengths-based, mindfulness-based and EMDR.
Roberta is married and has 3 daughters and one grand-daughter. She completed her graduate studies while tending to her family, being employed full-time, and volunteering in the community. In her spare time, Roberta enjoys spending time with her family, welding, dragon boating and horseback riding.
